General Battling Guidelines

In order to facilitate battling, and to clarify general strategy for members, we have created this document.

BATTLE CLASS. If you are a warrior and do not have any of the special abilities, please change your class to cleric or mage. If you are infrequently in battle, please change your class to cleric.

  • At the beginning of the battle an officer or another designated person will indicate which gate to target.  Please follow these directions.

  • It is important to follow chat throughout the battle, even if you are not chatting.  Many important instructions will be included in chat.

  • In general, first killed are active clerics, followed by inactive clerics.

  • Active mages in the gate should be the next to go.

  • If you cannot safely hit a target in the gate we are working in, please consult with the officer in charge or the guild mistress.  Of course, using support abilities such as healing, is welcome.

  • If you lose once to a cleric or mage, do not hit them again.

  • If you lose to a cleric, immediately post in chat your loss and the need for a mage to clean up.

  • If you cannot safely hit a mage or cleric in the gate we are working in, please target rogues and warriors.

  • Do not suicide unless absolutely necessary.  Consult with an officer or the guild mistress before doing so.

  • Mages: polys should first be placed on actives in the gate.  Whenever possible, coordinate with a lower level player if targets for them are limited.

  • When you do place a poly, please announce you have done so to avoid confusion.

  • IN FEST BATTLES: Attack low health targets for the win. Do not suicide. Low health is defined under 2000 (1500 is better).  Do not hit high health targets for points.  Fest battles are about WINS not POINTS.

  • If you have any questions, or need clarification of the above, please ask.  Also, these are general guidelines.  Specific battles may require amendments to or alterations of the above.

  • Lone wolf behaviour will not be tolerated.

Thank you.
